Caffs - Near Home

Stirling

If you like eating good food in old-fashioned booths, The KONDITOREI Cafe in the main street arcade is the go.

Glenelg

It would be easy to list ten good caffs at The Bay, but the three we use most are...

IL KAFE in the Village Shopping Centre up at the Brighton Rd end of Jetty Rd. Frank and Betti and their crew are just the best.

MAMA CARMELAS on Moseley Sq, just by the tram terminus. Licensed, nice people, great coffee. If you're there for morning fare, try a Breakfast Bruschetta.

VELOCE PANINOTECA on the Marina Quay at the northern end of the bay, choice of inside, semi-inside, or out overlooking the racks of swish boatsand the occasional passing dolphin.

Port Adelaide

If your'e into cheap and cheerful with bags of Port atmosphere then it's the CAFE COCO in the Port Mall shopping arcade for you. Great menu, bright breezy service, what's not to love.

Mt Barker

Quite a few to pick from in the main street of Mt Barker, but we tend to drop into MILLIE'S BAKERY at the top end. They don't do steaks or fish and chips, but specialise in a wide range of bakery fare. And the little biscuits they serve with your coffee are available by the bag. And just as well.

Goolwa

Again, a few to pick from in this brilliant old paddle-wheeler and railway town on Lake Alexandrina, but you can do worse than the SALTWATER CAFE at the top end of their main drag Cadell St. Big menu, justifiably a popular place with the day-trippers and locals just about any day of the week, but especially weekends, hard to get a seat during the lunch rush. Our ploy is to drop in about eleven or so, between the morning teas and the lunch waves. Burgers are great.
